Microsoft has finally announced some good news for Zune music listeners up in Canada, the Zune Pass subscription will be available beginning October 3rd. The service will come priced at either C$9.99 per month or C$99.90 annually and will work on devices including Windows Phone and the Zune as well as the Xbox 360 and online with the Zune.net website.
And for those in the US thinking that price is a bit cheaper than what you are paying. Yah, well, there is something about that also. You see, Microsoft has (in addition to bringing the Zune Pass to Canada) also announced some changes for the Zune Pass in general.
The changes will go into effect on October 3rd where US users will also be getting the subscription for $9.99 per month (with a catch). That catch is the free MP3 downloads are going away. You see, in the past Microsoft offered unlimited on-demand and 10 MP3 downloads to keep for $14.99 per month. And well, moving forward new Zune Pass users will simply be paying $9.99 per month for unlimited on-demand.
That being said, current Zune Pass subscribers paying $14.99 per month will have the option to keep their current plan should they choose.
