Google rolls-out Google Docs update for Android tablets

It looks like Google has rolled-out the latest update in terms of the Google Docs app for Android. And this is one that those sporting a Honeycomb running tablet will be happy to see. But first, the nitty gritty details — the Google Docs app has gone up to version 1.0.27 and it remains available for devices running Android 2.1 Eclair or later. In terms of new features, this update brings;

  • Improved sharing experience with autocomplete system
  • Improved video playback

And for the bigger portion of the update, the tablet support. This comes as;

  • Optimized experience for tablet users, Honeycomb (Android 3.0+)
  • New 3-panel interface for improved browsing which includes a Details panel showing a thumbnail and sharing information

And lastly, the Google Docs for Android app now supports both landscape and portrait mode and has support for 46 languages.
