Samsung has released its previously announced ChatON messaging application in the Android Market. ChatON currently supports phones running Android, Bada and Samsung’s feature phones. ChatON will also be coming to BlackBerry and iOS devices in the future.
ChatON comes to us shortly after Apple released iOS 5 and iMessage. Services such as these make traditional text messaging plans unnecessary as long as users are using the same application. ChatON has the advantage of working across multiple operating systems.
Google also has its own messaging application called Messenger (previously known as Huddle).
So far, several reviews in the Android Market are saying there is an issue with receiving a verification code from Samsung. Once that gets ironed out, we’ll see how successful ChatON becomes.
