Owners of the recently released Archos G9 tablets are finding themselves having a pretty significant problem. It seems as though some are getting errors when trying to download applications from the Android Market. The G9 tablets have permission to use the Android Market, but it’s not stopping the purchase processing error from occurring. Archos is working with Google to fix the problem, but there are a couple ways you can probably alleviate the issue yourself.
Archos suggests creating a new Google account from the tablet and switching those accounts in the Android Market. According to responses on the Archos Facebook page, this method isn’t working. However, manually installing the Android Market appears to do the trick.
The Archos Fans forums suggests you remove the original Android Market shortcut from the tablet’s home screen and install the Android Market 3.1.5 update manually. You can find the Android Market .apk file from the ArcTablet Blog that’s linked below.
This is just a workaround for now. Hopefully Archos will have this officially straightened out soon.
