The latest update to the Netflix Android app finally brings support for Android tablets running anything over 3.x. With this update, Netflix has pretty much covered the majority of the Android user base. Previous updates brought Netflix to Android devices that run Froyo and Gingerbread.
This update also provides streaming video to customers in Latin America and Canada. As positive as this all may sound, it appears support for Honeycomb tablets doesn’t mean Netflix is optimized for Honeycomb tablets. The app does not do a good job of taking advantage of all the extra screen space that’s available on Honeycomb tablets.
The Netflix app as a whole needs to be redesigned. It has never been very responsive on Android or iOS, and the interface is very plain.
