AT&T has activated more than 1 million iPhone 4S’

The iPhone 4S has broken yet another record, this time being the fastest iPhone to 1 million activations on AT&T.

As of Tuesday of this week, AT&T has activated more than 1 million iPhone 4S units, just five days after the device was first sold in stores. According to AT&T, that makes the iPhone 4S the most “successful iPhone launch in the company’s history.” AT&T is celebrating the number by talking about the speed difference on AT&T compared to Verizon and Sprint which won’t get the same theoretical speeds on the iPhone 4S. Certainly the fact that many iPhone users are locked into AT&T doesn’t hurt those numbers, though there are good things to be said about AT&T. You just won’t hear many good things about the carrier in major cities filled with iPhones like New York City and San Francisco.
