Feast your eyes on the Iris 9000. No, it doesn’t have anything to do with that Iris Android app that was released not too long ago. The Iris 9000 is an iPhone 4S accessory that brings you even closer to Siri. No longer will you have to put your phone up to your mouth to ask Siri a question. With the Iris 9000, you can set an appointment through Siri while you’re spending time in the bathroom without your iPhone.
Here’s how the Iris 9000 works. Once you put the iPhone 4S into the included cradle, you can use the Iris 9000 remote to activate Siri. ThinkGeek says the remote will work up to 50 feet away. The speakers on the Iris 9000 will play the all-too-familiar Siri chime, and you ask Siri whatever you want. The Iris 9000 has a microphone, so you don’t have to rely on the iPhone hearing you from far away. The Iris 9000 also has a glowing red eye that flickers as Siri is talking.
It’ll be a while before the Iris 9000 will be available. When it does start to ship in the Spring of 2012, it’ll cost $59.99.
