HP acknowledges they need to be in the tablet market, will be coming back with Windows 8 tablets

While many are still disappointed in what HP did with the TouchPad tablet (and in some part is still doing with webOS), it looks like they have realized they need to stay in the tablet market. Except before anyone gets super excited — they have yet to announce a return of the TouchPad. In fact, the details are rather sparse at this point. Basically what we have is a comment from CEO Meg Whitman which came during a recent HP conference call. According to Whitman, HP “needs to be in the tablet business.” And here is where people will either love that news or hate that news — they will be rolling out Windows 8 based tablets.
