The following HTC smartphones will get Ice Cream Sandwich

HTC gave its smartphone owners a bit of a scare when it initially responded to questions about whether its phones will be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Those who own HTC smartphones rolled the dice when it came to getting future Android updates, and fortunately, it didn’t come up snake eyes this time. HTC UK announced a number of its phones will be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich in early 2012.

If you happen to live in the UK, expect the following phones to receive Ice Cream Sandwich.

• HTC Sensation
• HTC Sensation XL
• HTC Sensation XE
• HTC Rezound
• HTC EVO 3D

In the United States, HTC UK has confirmed the HTC Rezound, HTC EVO Design 4G and the HTC Amaze 4G will be upgraded.

The fate of other phones such as the HTC Sensation 4G, the US version of the EVO 3D and the Thunderbolt are still in question. At least we know those phones are capable of getting upgraded. It really just depends on the carriers at this pont.
