More and more children these days are going to be exposed totablets. In the future, the memory of using tablets is going to be as normal for them as the See ‘n Say was for people my age. Most tablets these days are still pricey and not exactly kid-friendly. That’s where the Nabi comes in. Nabi is a tablet designed for children. It will be sold by Toys R Us for $199. The expected shipping date for the tablet is December 1.
Based on its outside appearance, the Nabi looks like it’s ready to take a few bumps. It’s surrounded by a thick outer casing that was most likely designed with protection in mind rather than style. The Nabi will come with 30 apps and 30 books already pre-loaded. It also has access to Fooz Kids University, which is a site that specializes in teaching kids basic level math. The tablet also has its own app store that houses the likes of Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja and Cut the Rope.
Underneath the kid-friendly exterior is an adult tablet. Adults can input a special code to bring out the device’s Android roots including unrestricted web browsing. As for specs, this thing has nothing that will blow your mind. It has a 800 Mhz dual-core Cortex-A9 processor, 4GB of storage, a seven-inch 800X480 resolution display with 1080p HD video playback and a 1.3 megapixel front camera.
