It looks like the folks behind the Square have announced some new features including printable receipts and customer loyalty options. These latest changes will arrive with app version 2.2 which will be available for both Android devices as well as the iPhone and iPad.
In terms of the features. In the past, the Square offered the option to have a receipt sent by text message or by email. And well, as of now, customers will also be able to get an actual printed receipt. But perhaps a bit nicer than being able to get a paper receipt, the update also brings the customer loyalty options. These are said to include allowing the merchant to track the amount of times they interact with a specific customer. The merchant can set the level they seem fitting before a customer is deemed a regular and from there, they will easily be able to offer incentives. And lastly, this latest Square update will also allow the merchant to set custom tipping amounts on the signature screen.
And if you were thinking this update is all about the merchant side, rest assure in knowing that the Square Card Case app (for consumers) will also see a few perks. These are said to include the ability to make a purchase a bit easier. According to the details we have seen, the Card Case app will detect when you are near a merchant enabled store and it will open up a new tab on that merchants Square app which will then allow you to checkout a bit easier and a bit quicker. In short, Square is making it a bit easier to both accept and make payments.
