Dolphin Browser HD for Android gets an update, brings security improvements and more

It looks like the Dolphin Browser HD app for Android has been updated. This latest update comes as version 7.2.0 and maintains the requirement of only running on Android 2.0.1 (or later) devices. This new version is available by way of the Android Market and comes as a 3.4M file download. That all being said, while this update does not contain anything over-the-top exciting in terms of new features — it is a solid update with goodies to include those that are security related and those that are usability related. According to the “What’s New” section in the Android Market listing, here is how the update breaks down;

  • Added encryption to backup data
  • Added option to turn on/off Toggle Webzine button in settings
  • Add option to disable confirm dialog while exit Dolphin via back button
  • Enabled option to disable “Rate me” dialog
  • Enabled option to disable notification about Dolphin in settings bar
  • Fixed multiple bugs related to Dolphin Connect
  • Various stability and performance fixes
  • We are working hard on the freezing and crash issue on Toshiba Thrive. A special bug-fix version will be coming soon.
