Samsung has come forward with some Ice Cream Sandwich related news. And while this bit is dealing with all Galaxy branded devices, those sporting a Galaxy S II or Galaxy Note will want to pay special attention. That being said, if you have either of these handsets — you should be on the lookout for Android 4.0 to arrive in the first quarter of 2012. And then moving forward, Samsung has stated that the Ice Cream Sandwich updates for all other Galaxy devices will follow “soon.”
Otherwise, as to which devices fall into that ‘other’ category, Samsung breaks those down as follows;
“The ICS-upgradable devices are the GALAXY S II, GALAXY S II LTE, GALAXY Note, GALAXY R, GALAXY Tab 10.1, GALAXY Tab 8.9, GALAXY Tab 7.7, and GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus.”
And lastly, further details state that Samsung will make additional announcements regarding specific models as the upgrade times come closer. Of course, the catch (as with all Android updates) — these updates will be dependent on the “market situation and carriers’ requirements.”
