Huawei is not to be outdone by smartphone companies which are showing their wares at CES 2012. For its part, Huawei is introducing the new Ascend P1 S Android smartphone which is said to be the slimmest of them all smartphones that you’ve ever laid your eyes on. The Ascend P1 S measures 6.68 mm thin and sports a huge 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD 960×540 touchscreen. What makes its screen special is the fact that it is made of Corning Gorilla Glass. Providing processing power to the phone is a dual-core TI OMAP 4460 Cortext-A9 processor with 1.5GHz speed and a SGX 540 graphic processor. Naturally, with such power, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich would run well on the device. Other features of the Huawei Ascend P1 S include – a 1670 mAh/1800 mAh battery, 8MP BSI rear-facing camera, 1.3MP HD front-facing camera with dual flash LED and HDR effect optimization, 1080p HD video recording for its main camera and 720p HD video recording for its front-facing camera, MHL-HDMI, DLNA, Bluetooth 3.0 HS, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of ROM. If thin is not you thing, you can settle for the phone’s sister which is the Ascend P1 which measures a bit thicker at 7.69 mm. Both the Huawei Ascend P1 S and P1 Android smartphones will be available in metallic black, ceramic white, cherry-blossom pink in Europe, Asia-Pacific, North America, Australia, Middle East, and China sometime in Q2 2012.
