Verizon and Motorola officially announced the Droid 4 during CES and before that we had seen some rumors suggesting that the Droid 3 was going to be EOL’d later in this month. And well, while we have yet to see anything official in terms of the Droid 3 begin discontinued, we have seen Verizon cut the price.

Effective immediately, the Motorola Droid 3 can be purchased for $99.99. This price is direct with Verizon and comes due to a $100 “promo discount.” Either way, those interested can now get a Droid 3 with Verizon for $99.99 on a two-year agreement. And lastly, while the Droid 3 is not sporting 4G LTE connectivity like the Droid 4 will have — it still has a rather nice feature set. The Droid 3 sports a 4 inch (960 x 540) qHD display, dual-core 1GHz processor, 16GB of internal storage, front-facing camera, 8 megapixel rear facing camera, Android 2.3 Gingerbread and a 5-row slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
