Despite previous rumors which suggested that Asus was working on a 3G version of the Transformer Prime tablet — it now looks like that will not be happening. In fact, according to Focus Taiwan, Asus has come forward saying that “no such product exists on its current roadmap.” Of course, while it looks like the device is not in the works at the moment that does not mean that it was never on the roadmap. Those previous rumors could have been accurate. But that being said, regardless if they were accurate in the past or not — a 3G capable version of the Transformer Prime is not something that should be expected at the moment. Either way though, the recently announced (and improved) model is still expected to begin shipping during Q2 of this year.
