While many Android users have been waiting for the Instagram app to arrive, it now looks like the widely popular image app may be coming to another platform first. Instagram is already available for iOS and now it looks like it may be coming to Windows Phone. Yup, reports are calling for Instagram to release a Windows Phone app before an Android app. The details have yet to be confirmed and are currently coming by way of a tipster from Fast Company. More specifically, they are reporting that;
“A source recently left the impression that the Windows Phone team has possibly been working with the folks from Instagram.”
And while that may sound surprising for some, we do have to point out that this has yet to be confirmed by anyone from Instagram. In fact, when asked, Instagram cofounder and CEO Kevin Systrom stated that;
“Other than having pre-announced Android, we don’t comment on roadmap stuff,”
Bottom line, things still appear to be up in the air at the moment. One thing that we can say for sure though, if Instagram arrives in the Windows App Marketplace before the Android Market — there is going to be quiet a few angry Android users.
