US Cellular announces the launch of their 4G LTE network

It looks like another US based carrier has come forward with details of their 4G LTE network roll-out plans. The latest is US Cellular and the network will begin to go live in March. According to the details provided, the network will cover 25 percent of the current customer base and two devices will be made available. The devices are both from Samsung and include the Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G tablet and the Galaxy S Aviator 4G smartphone. In terms of the 4G LTE coverage, that breaks down as follows;

“The March rollout of 4G LTE includes select cities in Iowa, Wisconsin, Maine, North Carolina, Texas and Oklahoma, including some of U.S. Cellular’s leading markets such as Milwaukee, Madison and Racine, Wis.; Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Davenport, Iowa; Portland and Bangor, Maine; and Greenville, N.C.”

And looking forward, US Cellular has already mentioned that the next phase of the roll-out will be announced later in February.
