It looks like a few more details about the Spark Linux-based tablet have come available. And perhaps a bit nicer for those who have been waiting for this tablet to come available — it is expected to come available for pre-order as early as next week. Sadly though, the actual availability is not coming that quickly. According to new details, the Spark Linux tablet will not be available until May. In terms of where the device will be up for purchase — it looks like that will initially be limited to those in Europe and then later come for those in the US and other regions around the world. The tablet will be available in a Wi-Fi only version and running Mer, which is a community-based version of MeeGo Linux. Otherwise, the Spark tablet will have hardware features to include;

  • 7 inch (800 x 480) capacitive multi-touch capable display
  • 1GHz AMLogic ARM Cortex-A9 processor
  • Mali 400 graphics
  • 512MB of RAM
  • 4GB of internal storage
  • microSD card slot
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g
  • 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera
  • 2 USB ports
  • 3.5mm audio jack
