Google has rolled out the latest update for Google Voice on Android. This update arrives as version 0.4.2.44 and will run on devices with 1.6 or later. And worth noting before we get to the part about the changes;
“You must open Google Voice at least once after upgrading to route calls.”
With that out of the way so none of the GadgeTell readers using Google Voice do not start missing calls — lets get into what has been changed with this latest release. The new features include offline SMS messaging, an official user feedback menu and perhaps the biggest — a new look for those using Google Voice on a device running Android 3.x or 4.x. With that, you can read the complete change log (as found in the Android Market listing) below.
Asynchronous SMS sending (offline queuing) – Note that it still works synchronously for multiple recipients.
New style UI in Honeycomb and ICS
Official user feedback menu on each screen (previously dogfood menu).
