Facebook has announced that the new Timeline layout will be given to Brand Pages (also known as Fan or Business Pages) too. Whether this will be a good thing or not remains to be seen. So far, the rollout of Timeline for individuals has met with mixed reviews. I have it and really like it, but naturally, as with any layout change Facebook makes, there is a strongly vocal opposition to it. Facebook says it will start with a small group of beta testers and go from there. They aren’t giving any exact dates on when the rollout will occur.
I run two very busy brand pages and I am not sure I like the idea of it being forced into Timeline mode. I’m not sure that type of format works for them. Facebook says the layout won’t be exactly like the one for individual pages so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
