Acer Iconia Tab A100 and A500 tablets will be getting ICS in mid-April

Some good news for those with an Iconia Tab A100 or Iconia Tab A500 tablet — your update to Ice Cream Sandwich has been officially announced. The details are coming by way of the official Acer America Twitter account where they break it down as follows;

“To all Acer Iconia Tab A500 and A100 users, please expect an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in mid-April! Thank you for your patience.”

So sure, you still have a decent wait ahead of you, but hey — at least the update has been confirmed and you know it is on the way. With that, we suspect we will hear a bit more from Acer once we get a bit closer to the April release timeframe. Until then, it looks like sweet Ice Cream Sandwich dreams for Iconia Tab owners.
