Rumor: Amazon will sell Kindles with color screens this year

What’s next in line for the Kindle family? Rumors suggest an even larger and possibly more efficient Kindle Fire is planned for 2012. In the e-reader space, Amazon may be taking things to the next level by introducing a Kindle with a color screen.
This new rumor comes from DigiTimes who cites the Economic Daily News as the source for the information. Amazon will supposedly ship the new 6-inch e-readers in March at the rate of three million each month. E Ink Holdings is said to be manufacturing the displays.
If this is true, we’re left wondering how long it will take Barnes & Noble to follow suit.
