It looks like Skype has finally arrived for Windows Phone, though we should point out that it has arrived as a beta offering. In fact, the official app name comes as Skype for Windows Phone Beta. That aside though, the app is available in the Windows Phone Marketplace for any and all. Well, technically speaking the Skype app will be available for those running Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. Otherwise, the Skype app will allow you to do just what you would expect — make free audio and video calls to other Skype users as well as low-priced calls to regular numbers using your Skype Credits. The Skype app will work over Wi-Fi, 4G and 3G and has been noted as having the “best performance” on the Nokia Lumia 710 and Lumia 800 as well as the HTC Titan and Radar and the Samsung Focus S and Focus Flash. And lastly, as for the final release, it was noted that Skype (the “gold version”) for Windows Phone will be available in April.
