Asus has officially announced the smartphone and tablet combo device that is the Padfone. And nicely done, the device will be available fairly shortly — beginning in April. Of course, while we have some good we also have some disappointing. As of this time, Asus has yet to offer anything in terms of a price. Not to mention, which markets would be getting the Padfone.
That aside though, what we can say is that the smartphone element will feature a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED qHD display, dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor with Adreno 225 GPU. Other goodies will include a VGA quality front facing camera, an 8 megapixel rear facing camera with LED flash, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 1520 mAh battery, HDMI and connectivity in the form of WCDMA (900, 2100 MHz), EDGE / GPRS / GSM (850, 1800 and 1900 MHz) and HSPA+. The Padfone will come with options for 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage and arrive running Android Ice Cream Sandwich. And lastly, the tablet element will feature a 10 inch display.
