This morning, CNBC tweeted a rumor claiming the iPad 3 would be unveiled in New York City next week and it would contain a quad-core processor and 4G LTE connectivity. CNBC turned out to be right the time frame aspect, and possibly the hardware, but the news source was wrong on the location. Several hours ago, Apple sent out invitations for a press event to take place in San Francisco on March 7th.
The invitation image doesn’t reveal a whole lot of information, but it contains an image of a tablet and a caption reading “We have something you really have to see. And touch.”
Preliminary reports indicate the iPad 3 will contain an improved camera, faster quad-core processor based on the A6 chipset, 4G LTE connectivity, bigger battery, and a higher definition display. Again, we will find out just about a week what Apple has in store for consumers across the world.
