Starting March 6th, Toshiba’s Excite 10 LE Android 3.2 tablet will be available for purchase through several national retailers. The Excite 10 LE is billed as the world’s thinnest tablet as it measures in at 0.3 inches. Interestingly enough, it will be available for purchase the day before the iPad 3 is scheduled to be announced. If you are looking to purchase a new tablet, my suggestion would to be wait a day or two before jumping on Toshiba’s latest offering to see what Apple has in store.
In any event, the Android 3.2 boasting machine features a 10.1 inch Gorilla Glass display, 1200 x 800 resolution, 1.2GHz OMAP 4430 dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of memory (or 32GB for $599), 5MP rear facing camera, 2MP front facing camera, built-in stereo speakers, WiFi, and Bluetooth.
Overall, the Toshiba Excite 10 LE is a decently spec’d tablet, however, there is very little differentiation between it and other 10.1 inch tablets. One shortcoming is the fact that it will launch with Android 3.2, but it will be upgraded to Android 4.0 in the spring, according to Toshiba.
