OnLive Desktop has been available on iOS for a little while now, but now Android users can also see what the big deal is. In case you don’t know, OnLive Desktop is a free application that gives users access to a limited Windows 7 experience. Streamed entirely from the cloud, OnLive Desktop contains complete Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Adobe Acrobat Reader is also present.

The Android version of OnLive Desktop has the same limitations as the iOS version. If you’re not willing to pay anything, you’ll only get 2GB of storage. However, you can choose to purchase a monthly subscription to OnLive Desktop Plus for $4.99. For that amount, you’ll be getting gigabit internet browsing speeds compliments of OnLive.

Android tablets running Gingerbread and higher are compatible with OnLive Desktop. OnLive has specifically tested the Acer Iconia Tab A500, ASUS Eee TF101, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 and HTC Jetstream with OnLive Desktop.
