It looks like Delta has partnered with Amazon and will begin offering what we can think of as the non-paper version of SkyMall. In short, those flying Delta will be able to access the Amazon.com website for free using the in-flight Wi-Fi.

“Delta continues to offer new technology and innovation that delivers on our customer preferences while they travel with us,” said Bob Kupbens, Delta’s vice president – Marketing and Digital Commerce. “Our customers enjoy our free content options in-flight and free access to Amazon provides a convenient way to shop online at 30,000 feet for things they want on the ground.”

That being said, gaining access will be a fairly simple process — launch a web browser, open the Delta Connect Wi-Fi Portal and click on one of the Amazon banners on the page. From that point, you will be granted full and complete access to the Amazon.com and AmazonWireless.com websites so you can take care of your shopping needs. Or maybe so you can do some virtual window shopping and kill some time while flying. Either way, Amazon is available without having to pay for in-flight Wi-Fi service.

Additionally, it was noted that Delta also provides “free access to real-time travel information, news content from The Wall Street Journal and People magazine, exclusive shopping deals and entertainment options by Delta and its on-board wireless provider Gogo.”
