HTC said it would start updating its line of Sensation smartphones to Ice Cream Sandwich this month, but we didn’t think it would happen so soon. The XDA forums are lighting up with users that have reportedly received the ICS with Sense 3.6 update over-the-air. Sensation XE owners in Germany are getting update notifications, and users in Nordic countries such as Finland, Denmark and Norway are also supposedly getting the update too.
HTC hasn’t made an announcement, so there’s some speculation about whether or not this mass update is intentional. HTC promised to give Elevate members early access, but non-Elevate users are the ones getting the update. It doesn’t appear Sensation owners in the United Kingdom are smothered in ICS yet, but that could change at any time.

We’ll keep an eye on this as it develops.
