Nokia now offers a little functionality to its web-based Nokia Maps application for iOS and Android 2.3 devices. Nokia Maps now provides voice guided directions for when you’re traveling on foot. If you want to try it out, just go to m.maps.nokia.com from your mobile device and begin your walking journey.
It’s pretty simple to get voice directions up and running. Once you go to the site and allow it to pick up on your location, you simply input where you want to go in Nokia Maps address bar. After choosing the appropriate result, Nokia Maps will have you download a small file that contains voice directions. From there, it’s just a matter of walking, watching the map and listening to the directions.
I have to say Nokia’s voice directions are more pleasant to listen compared to Google Maps’ female robot.
