Aereo’s ability to stream broadcast television signals over the internet may be limited in its range, but it has the potential to become huge. Broadcasters such as NBC, CBS and ABC realized this and filed a lawsuit against Aereo to stop its launch that eventually took place earlier this month. Aereo returned with a lawsuit of its own shortly afterwards, and has now tacked on a second lawsuit that targets New York television stations as well.

WPIX and WNET are named in the second lawsuit. WNET is one of the plaintiffs in the first lawsuit that was filed against Aereo. This second lawsuit was expected.

In case you didn’t know, Aereo is a service that takes broadcast television signals and makes the content available on the internet for easy streaming. Aereo also has a DVR feature that lets users record programming whenever they want.
