We have seen a few offerings from Commodore USA in recent history, one of which was the modern day version of the Commodore 64 which began shipping in the middle of last year. And well, in addition to the C64, Commodore USA has also been chatting up other notable brands from the past such as the Amiga and the Vic. That being said, it looks like those who have been waiting and/or hoping for something Amiga branded to come available are now able to make a purchase. The details were announced by way of the Commodore USA Twitter account where they note that the “Commodore Amiga is back with the Amiga Mini.”

In terms of the computer, the Amiga Mini will be available in a black or silver casing and as implied by the mini in the name — it will be small. In fact, the Amiga Mini will measure in at 7.75 x 7.75 x 3 inches. Otherwise the Amiga Mini will be available in two configurations — one for $345 and one for $2495. The lower priced model is the “Barebones” and includes only the case and a slot-loading Blu-ray drive. The actual fully running Amiga Mini is the one for $2495 which ships with goodies to include the following;

  • Intel Intel i7-2700k 3.5 Ghz Quad-Core CPU
  • NVIDIA GeForce GT 430 GPU with 1GB DDR3
  • 16Gb Memory (DDR3 1333MHz)
  • Blu-Ray Drive (slot load)
  • WiFi(802.11 b/g/n) with 2 Antennae
  • 1Tb Serial ATA Hard Drive
  • Commodore OS Vision pre-installed plus 2 restore discs

And lastly, it looks like both options are showing at 4-6 week shipping time at the moment.
