Facebook recently updated its Android app to version 1.9. Along with that update came a couple new shortcuts that most Android users didn’t want on their phones. Facebook added its own camera shortcut and messenger shortcut to Android’s app menu. Besides being generally unwanted, these icons had the potential to create confusion.
If you’re like me, you now have two shortcuts in your app menu named “camera” and “messenger.” Before today, there was no way to immediately distinguish what app these shortcuts belonged to. Facebook fixed this by updating its Android app. Facebook’s camera and messenger apps now have a circular Facebook icon next to them.
I thought Facebook wouldn’t change a thing. I suppose something is better than nothing.
