We saw the original Jawbone Jambox introduced back in late 2010. And then things were quiet on that front, the Jambox remained available and for the most part, kept on getting solid reviews. Flash forward till early 2012 and we began seeing reports and leaks that suggested Jawbone was planning to roll-out a bigger version, the Big Jambox. Of course, while not quiet official, the FCC details that came available in February did offer quite a bit of detail. Anyway, all that aside, Jawbone has come forward with an official announcement — the Big Jambox has been officially announced and can be purchased for $299.99. Well, technically speaking, the Big Jambox is still only available for pre-order at the moment however you can surf on over to the Jawbone website and part with your hard earned money.
In terms of the specs and features. The Big Jambox measures in at 10 (L) x 3.1 (W) x 3.6 (H) inches and weighs in at 2.7 pounds. The speaker is sporting a stereo pair of proprietary acoustic drivers, proprietary dual passive bass radiators and a built-in microphone. In terms of connectivity, you will find Bluetooth, a 3.5mm stereo jack, microUSB (for updating on MyTalk) and simultaneous multipoint which will allow you to connect two devices at the same time.
Otherwise, the Big Jambox is available in Graphite Hex, White Wave and Red Dot and has a battery life of up to 15 hours of continuous play. Finally, the speaker is shipping with a 60-inch microUSB cable, a 36-inch 3.5mm stereo cable and wall charger.
