Instagram tops 50 million users, probably has Android and Facebook to thank

It was in mid-April when we saw Instagram top the 40 million user mark. And well, it looks like another major milestone has since been reached — 50 million. Yup, Instagram now has more than 50 million users. That being said, while many iOS users were upset when Instagram rolled-out the Android app, we are fairly certain that Instagram has Android to thank for this splurge in users. Of course, on that note, the Facebook acquisition probably also helped quiet a bit. Regardless of the reasons though, the bottom line is that Instagram now has over 50 million users. And interestingly enough, this is coming from a company/app that had only 15 million users in January of this year.
