Amidst the hype generated by Samsung’s announcement of the Galaxy S3, Pantech in Korea quietly launched an equally super-smartphone by way of the Pantect Vega Racer 2. Like the SGS3, the Pantech Vega Racer has a huge display, in fact a bit bigger at 4.8-inches with a 1280 x 720 resolution. Unfortunately, Pantech will not disclose what technology the Vega Racer 2’s screen is using. Said handset will also be running Android 4.0 and powered by a 2,020 mAH battery which according to Pantech will give you around 9.5 hours of talk time and 245 hours of standby on LTE connectivity. The phone will be using Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 processor. In the design department, the device is a bit thick at 9.35mm although it weighs a bit light at 133g. Another thing that you should look forward to about this phone is its voice recognition feature which you can also use when taking photos. The Pantech Vega Racer 3 will be available soon in Korea. Unfortunately, there is no word yet on its international release.
