AT&T has officially announced the Digital Life home security and automation services. The Digital Life services will initially be available in limited trials for those in Dallas and Atlanta later this summer. As for what the Digital Life service will be offering — it is being touted as both security and automation. Simply put, this will allow users to do things such as remotely lock and unlock doors, adjust thermostats and monitor cameras as well as items that are more commonly found in home security such as smoke, carbon monoxide, motion and glass break sensors. The Digital Life service is going to be managed by a newly created Digital Life group and will offer goodies such as professional installation along monitoring done at an AT&T owned monitoring center. Otherwise, those who sign up for the service will be able to do the monitoring and home control using any web enabled device. Finally, so far we have yet to hear much for the price. Not to mention, when or if this service will expand beyond the trials.
