I know, 10-inch tablet maybe a thing of the past already. But for some the only way they are going to own and use an Android tablet is if it comes with a 10-inch screen. And this is probably what’s in the minds of the folks at Ematic, known for their value tablets as the company just announced the new eGlide XL Pro 2. As mentioned, this is a 10-inch tablet and its running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for its OS. Aside from that, said tablet also comes pre-loaded with some productivity apps including Kobo ereader app as well as its own app store called Ematic App Shop. This provides access to the latest apps including those for news feeds, social networking and gaming. The device also supports up to 1080p HD video and games plus HDTV connectivity via HDMI mirroring. Under the hood, the eGlide XL Pro 2 features a 1GHz processor, 400MHz GPU, 4GB of internal storage, 5GB of cloud storage and 1GB of RAM. It supports microSD cards as well for additional 32GB of storage. Other features of the tablet include built-in three-axis gyroscope with accelerometer for advanced motion sensing such as full 3D rotation, front-facing camera, voice recorder, built-in Wi-Fi and mobile hotspot. Finally, the eGlide XL Pro also comes pre-loaded with EDAN (Ematic Digital Assistant and Navigator), a virtual assistant app that you can use for voice-to-text commands for dictating an email, Facebook message or tweet. The eGlide XL Pro 2 is now available at ShopNBC.com, Walmart.com, and Amazon.com. It will set you back $219.99.
