The Flipboard Android app was leaked earlier this week much to the dismay of Samsung which intended to use it to boost Galaxy S III sales. No effort has been made to make the app unusable by the many people who downloaded it. Instead, Flipboard has been updated to version 1.8.4 from 0.7.17. You should get the prompt to update the next time you open Flipboard.

The amount of fixes made to Flipboard are astounding. It really shows how the original version may not have been intended for public use at all. Among the fixes is an issue that would display the wrong article when flipping through. I also noticed how the app is no longer partly transparent when it’s opened from the pull down menu on my HTC device.

You may encounter a parsing problem when trying to update the app. Fortunately, a Google+ user has posted the updated Flipboard app on Dropbox for everyone to download.
