According to a recent report over on Fierce Telecom, Verizon is planning to raise prices for FiOS customers. The details are coming by way of a senior executive within Verizon who stated that the price increases will be necessary to help offset costs and increase profitability. And for those wondering, Verizon still has no plans to continue rolling out FiOS support into areas that do not yet have it. Otherwise, in terms of those new rates, this is being done in part to help offset content costs and customers will begin to see the price hikes on items such as increased fees for set-top box and digital converted box rentals. Simply put, while there was not any timeline given as to when — it looks like Verizon FiOS customers can expect to begin paying more.
