It looks like the Vonage iOS app has recently been updated. The app, which is now sitting at version 1.5.0 is available by way of the iOS App Store and remains both free to download and free to use. Vonage for iOS does maintain the requirement of iOS 4.0 or later, however this latest update does bring a few welcomed new features. The first, and possibly the one that will be the most welcomed — Bluetooth support. Yup, Vonage for iOS now has support for Bluetooth which will allow you to make hands-free calls using your headset or a speakerphone. Otherwise, the remaining new features and changes that have arrived with Vonage version 1.5.0 include the following;

  • Share contact information when texting
  • Shared locations can now be opened in Google Maps
  • Shared URLs in texts now open a browser window when tapped

Other Updates

  • Simplified registration process
  • Improved call quality and connectivity
  • Performance enhancements

Finally, for those not familiar with the Vonage mobile app — rather simply, it is a free app that lets you talk and text for free worldwide with anyone else who has the app.
