Coming out of Computex 2012, Microsoft’s Steve Guggenheimer offered up some sales figures for Windows 7. Guggenheimer stated that Microsoft has now sold more than 600 million licenses of Windows 7. The OS was originally available in October 2009 and managed to climb to 240 million in sales during the first year of availability. After that, January 2012 saw the license sales climb to 525 million. Further details noted that Windows 7 is now running on “more than 39 percent of internet connected devices worldwide.” Of course, at this point we suspect lots of individual and home users are beginning to think Windows 8.
