It appears as if Sprint will soon be switching things up in terms of their Total Equipment Protection plans. The details are coming by way of the folks over at TechnoBuffalo who have recently published a screenshot offering the new details. Assuming the screenshot is the real deal and that the plans do not change in the meantime — Sprint will be adding a tiered structure to their Total Equipment Protection plans and the Equipment Replacement Program beginning on June 17th.
Simply speaking, these changes will affect the Total Equipment Protection (TEP) and Equipment Replacement Program (ERP) plans. The changes include a two-tier set-up which will bring costs of $8 and $5 for the TEP and ERP respectively on devices that have an SRP of less than $549.99. For devices priced higher (and for those who purchase the Galaxy Nexus or HTC EVO 4G LTE before June 17th), you can expect to pay $11 or $9 for the TEP or ERP respectively.
Finally, the new deductibles will break down as follows;
- Tier 1: Device SRP of $329.99 or less – $50 deductible for replacement devices.
- Tier 2: Device SRP of $325 – $549.98 – $100 deductible for replacement devices.
- Tier 3: Device SRP of $549.99 – $599.99 – $150 deductible for replacement devices.
- Tier 4: Device SRP of $600 or more – $200 deductible for replacement devices.
