It was only yesterday when Sony quietly rolled-out one of its latest Android smartphones, the Xperia ion and here comes AT&T announcing that it will be available in AT&T retails stores as well as online starting June 24th. AT&T will be offering the Sony Xperia ion for $99.99 on a two-year contract.
This device comes pretty special for the simple reason that it will be the first Sony phone to be running on AT&T’s 4G LTE network. Of course there are other special features and specs of the device which make it worth having. These include – a 12MP camera with 1080p video recording capability, 4.6-inch 720p HD Reality Display screen, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 16GB of internal memory, HDMI and DLNA, support for microSD card with up to 32GB capacity, and Playstation Certification for high quality mobile gaming.
One thing that may turn you off about the Xperia ion is the fact that it will be launched with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. But there’s a big chance that it will be upgraded to Android 4.0 ICS later on. With its price point of $99.99 and a 12MP camera plus the other features, the Xperia ion seems like a pretty good handset to consider. What do you think?
