LG has offered up some launch details for the Optimus L5 smartphone. Sadly though, some of the specifics (such as carrier and pricing) remain a mystery. What LG has offered up includes that the Optimus L5 will be available in Europe beginning this month. More specifically, the handset will launch in the UK, German and France. Moving past the initial launch, LG also has plans to roll the Optimus L5 into CIS, the Middle East and Asia as well as Central America and South America.
Otherwise, we do have the specs which begin with a 4-inch HVGA touchscreen display and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Other goodies for the Optimus L5 includes an 800MHz MSM 7225A (Cortex A5) processor, 4GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, 1500 mAh battery and rear-facing 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash.
The Optimus L5 will have LG’s “new User Experience (UX)” on top of Android. Details on the new User Experience UX is that it will include Quick Memo which will “users the ability to instantly jot memos or notes from any screen without having to open a separate application.”
The Optimus L5 will measure in at 118.3 x 66.5 x 9.5mm and bring a dual-SIM feature for those in Asia, CIS, Middle East, Central America and South America. Finally, those in Europe and North America will also get NFC “Tag & Play” functionality. And interestingly enough, the mention of Tag & Play brings the only mention of North America.
