Harry Potter fans that also happen to be Kindle owners can now read the books in ebook form. And nicely done, they are available for free. Well, for free to borrow by way of the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library. Of course, access to the library comes along with an Amazon Prime membership and that will set you back $79 per year.
“Nowhere else can customers borrow any of the seven Harry Potter books for free, with an unlimited supply of each title and no waiting list,” said Russ Grandinetti, Vice President, Kindle Content. “A $79 Prime membership was already the best deal in retail, and now it’s become even more valuable.”
Otherwise, in addition to the ability to borrow ebooks from the lending library, Prime members also get free two-day shipping on Prime eligible items and the option to stream movies and television using Prime Instant Video. Finally, those borrowing the Harry Potter (or any other) ebooks from the Lending Library will be happy to know that you will not be forced to read any faster than you like as they do not have any due dates. In fact, the only real catch is that you can only borronw one book per month.
