It was mentioned yesterday that Huawei was going to be one of the Windows Phone 8 device makers. And well, it looks like the company has come forward with a tiny bit more in terms of details. Huawei has announced that they plan to release a Windows Phone 8 version of the Ascend. This device will arrive as the first Windows Phone device from Huawei.

“It’s great to welcome Huawei to the Windows Phone family. The only phone with Live Tiles, Windows Phone brings you closest to the people and things you care most about,” said Terry Myerson, Corporate Vice President of the Windows Phone Division at Microsoft. “With Huawei’s impressive global capabilities, together we can bring Windows Phone 8 to more people around the world.”

Obviously the finer details such as when the handset will be available, which carriers will carry the device and how much will users have to pay are not yet known, however Huawei did state that they plan to release the handset in the US as well as Europe and China with “other markets to follow.”
