During the Google I/O Developer Conference today, it was announced that Google now has 400 million total activations worldwide since the Android onslaught began in 2008.  A year ago today, the total Android activations were 100 million, but that number has quadrupled into the 400 million mark we see today.  The unprecedented growth of Android has the Google team very happy, but they constantly reiterate how the developer team has catalyzed that success.

Moreover, Google Android sees one million new activations a day, or 12 activations a second of every single day.  These activations represent new devices being activated for the first time and not when a phone is reset.  Overall, these are impressive numbers coming from Google and we imagine it will continue to increase.
