One of the perks of buying a Nexus device is in knowing that updates should come available first, however in the case of the Nexus 7 tablet — it also means you have the full factory image ROM available. And nicely done on the part of Google as they have offered this bit before most of us will even get hands on with the device. As to what this means or who should be excited. Well, this means that should you decide to flash another ROM on your Nexus 7 — you will easily be able to get back to the default set-up. It also means that developers will be able to create something different. Say, an alternate Nexus 7 ROM. Of course, nothing on that front just yet. That all being said, the ROM image, which is Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (JRN84D), is available directly from the Google Developers website and measures in at just about 250MB in size.
